British Indian Ocean Territory

The British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom situated in the Indian Ocean halfway between Tanzania and Indonesia. The territory comprises the seven atolls of the Chagos Archipelago with over 1,000 individual islands – many very small – amounting to a total land area of 60 square kilometres (23 sq mi).

It is one of only two British territories that drives automobiles on the right side of the road, the other being Gibraltar. This has been said to be because the territory was previously occupied by the French, but France ceded the islands to the UK long before the invention of the automobile.

This tropical paradise of beautiful beaches, it is renowned for its stunning sunsets, breathtaking scenery, awesome surf, and pristine rain forests.

The resort was beautiful. Very big. They were slow on restocking some items, mostly our coffee. It was a long walk to the lobby. Our room was very big with a hot tub on a nice back deck. Some of the restaurant’s food was not so good. The French one and the seafood one were both gross. The Italian and the Japanese were awesome! The shows were good. The resort was clean and the staff were friendly. I would recommend...
